Hundreds of pages of insight. A global audience. And only a few moments to capture their attention.
The Global Status of CCS report is a major publication for the Global CCS Institute, bringing together research, data and insights on the development of carbon capture and storage (CCS) around the world.
To support the release of the report, Creative Instinct developed a promotional video designed to distil its scale, key themes and global perspective into a concise and engaging piece of visual content.
Rather than simply presenting pages from the publication on screen, we translated the report’s established visual language into motion. Typography, data, graphics, imagery and animated elements were brought together to create a fast-moving narrative that feels connected to the report while working as a standalone piece of content.
The challenge was finding the right balance between information and impact. A publication of this scale contains an enormous amount of detail, so the video needed to communicate enough to create interest without attempting to tell the entire story.
The result is a polished piece of corporate video and motion graphics content that extends the life of the publication beyond the report itself, helping the Global CCS Institute promote its research across digital channels and encourage audiences to explore the full report.
It also demonstrates the value of thinking beyond the original deliverable. A major report doesn’t need to exist as a document alone. Through animation, video and social content, the ideas within it can become a broader campaign capable of reaching audiences in very different ways.
